Take My Hand is an exhibition curated from the Artist Files, an online and physical database of emerging artists’ work at ThreeWalls. The exhibition investigates fixations on love and romance in our culture as they are depicted in the media through film, the Internet, television, and advertising. These portrayals affect the way we learn about and view romance. And although these models create definitions of romance that are generic and unrealistic, it is still difficult to avoid using popular media standards and terms to define love and romance in our own lives. The artists participating in Take My Hand focus on these themes within their work.
