TONIGHT! Mechanisms for Validation with Duncan Mackenzie
Mechanisms for Validation (Please, please just love me, or at least tell me I’m pretty, but I’ll settle for confirmation that I’m smart)
April 9th, 7pm
Moderated by Duncan Mackenzie
Join us for this threewallsSALON to discuss the means by which artists and practices are validated in the contemporary art world, where that validation comes from and how it is bestowed. Moderated by Duncan Mackenzie, founder and commentator on Bad at Sports, Mechanisms for Validation will look at the mechanisms of validation imposed on the art world content providers, and the means by which artists create their own systems of validation both personally and professionally, and the way, by extension, social status, money and cachet are assigned to them.
threewallsSALONS are open engagements where the public is invited to participate in a moderated conversation around current issues in contemporary art practice. For these open-forum discussions, threewalls invites a group of respondents to be on hand and part of the discussion, but everyone is welcome to come and participate of the dialog.
