Community Supported Art Chicago
Community-Supported Art Chicago is a yearly art subscription service of locally produced art. Much like Community Supported Agriculture, in which shareholders invest in a local farm and receive a monthly payout of fruits and vegetables, CSA Chicago asks shareholders to invest directly in the arts community with a “buy local” mentality. The program offers a reasonably priced way to support Chicago and regional artists and and receive limited edition contemporary artist projects in return. We offer editions in the Winter and the Spring.
Ranging from emerging to mid-career, participating artists have exhibited in museums and galleries nationally and internationally, ranging from the Museum of Contemporary Craft Portland, the Videonale at the Kunstmuseum Bonn, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, and The New Museum, New York, and collected in institutions such as The Museum of Modern Art, New York and The Art Institute of Chicago. CSA Chicago is an opportunity for collectors to access exclusive editions of their work at an affordable price. threewalls is excited to become part of a national movement to create sustainable models to fund local artists and contemporary art affordable and accessible, drawing inspiration from Community-Supported Art program of Springboard for the Arts in Minneapolis, MN, Alula Editions, The Present Group and The Thing Quarterly in California and the Risograph CSA Project in Grand Rapids, MI.
Check out what people are saying in The Huffington Post, Chicago Magazine, TimeOut Chicago, The Chicago Reader, Vocalo Radio, Gaper's Block, and a mini-documentary made by Gaper's Block The Grid! The CSA was mentioned in the top ten of 2011 in ArtSlant, named one of the top 5 Chicago art scene innovations in NewCity, and recommended by Lori B. Andrews, one of The Reader's Chicagoans of the year as her top 2011 cultural experience.
